The Road Patrol is consists of two shifts, alpha and bravo. The alpha shift is the designated night shift and the bravo shift is designated as the day shift. The alpha and bravo shift both contain two platoons and each platoon is comprised of three 7-officer squads. Each squad works an 11.5-hour shift and each squad starts work at different times to allow an overlap and maintain 24-hour coverage of the city. The road patrol's work schedule has fixed days off and is comprised of 84 Officers, 12 Sergeants, and 4 Lieutenants.
