Weather Updates
We hope that you and your families remained safe throughout Hurricane Milton. Our hearts are with our neighbors to the north who experienced the worst of the storm's impact.
Hurricane Milton made landfall as a Category 3 storm near Siesta Key in Sarasota County around 8:30 pm yesterday and continued northeastward, delivering significant wind, rain and flooding impacts as it moved toward Cape Canaveral on Florida's east coast. According to National Hurricane Center advisories, this storm is forecast to continue eastward into the Atlantic Ocean where it will weaken into a post-tropical cyclone. The previous Tornado Watch and Tropical Storm Warning in Broward are now canceled.
Metro Broward County is under a Wind Advisory until 4 pm today, which means that sustained winds up to 30 miles per hour and gusts up to 40 miles per hour are possible.
Please use extra caution and stay home as long as you are able while our first responders and Public Works professionals assess Sunrise's roadways and communities. In the immediate aftermath of any storm, it's advisable to stay indoors and remain off the roadways to avoid potentially hazardous conditions and allow crews to perform cleanup and recovery efforts.
Thank you for your cooperation!
