About the Little Free Library Movement
Todd Bol of Wisconsin developed the first Little Free Library in 2009 in tribute to his mother – a teacher and avid reader. He built a tiny shed, filled it with books, and placed it on his lawn with a sign: “Take a Book, Return a Book.” His motto has since been adopted by citizens in communities across the globe.
