City of Sunrise Scholarship - Apply by April 1st!In an effort to recognize the accomplishments of our residents and provide financial assistance to graduating high school students, the City of Sunrise created the Outstanding Citizenship Scholarship Program. The concept of "citizenship" relates to the expected qualities of a responsible member of a community.

To qualify for consideration, a student must:

  • Be a Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) high school student graduating in 2024;
  • Reside within the city limits of the City of Sunrise;
  • Be a Florida resident and a United States citizen or a resident alien at the time of selection and award;
  • Be income eligible for the BCPS Free/Reduced Price Meals Program; and
  • Demonstrate outstanding citizenship through volunteer work.

Through the Outstanding Citizenship Scholarship Program, the City of Sunrise makes available two, two-year scholarships (60-credit hours) for graduating high school seniors to attend most Florida colleges.

Apply by April 1st to be considered for a 2024 scholarship! Applications are available on the Broward Education Foundation (BEF) website: https://browardedfoundation.org/apply/.

Students must complete the BEF application, as well as a one-page City of Sunrise form. For additional information, please email sdiaz@sunrisefl.gov.
