The Fleet Management section of the Central Services Department oversees the City's garage operations and provides assistance in the purchase, processing and resale of all vehicles and equipment to ensure dependable vehicles are in service. Fleet Management is also responsible for:
  • Evaluating and approving the City garage’s monthly billing.
  • Monitoring non-contract repair costs and executing paperwork to pay monthly invoices to the City garage.
  • Assisting the Central Services Director in negotiating contract cost for the ensuing year.
  • Monitoring readily-available fuel and accountability for usage through a computerized fuel management system.

    The City of Sunrise has a fleet of approximately 650+ units. The City’s fleet is maintained by a private contractor at a City-owned facility (City garage). The City garage is responsible for providing effective and timely preventative and corrective maintenance services to all City vehicles and equipment. The garage also coordinates collision repairs to City vehicles through the use of multiple vendors.
