City of Sunrise Free Recycled Paint Program  
The Free Recycled Paint Program shall provide owners of single-family homes and townhomes in Sunrise with an opportunity to apply for up to two 5-gallon containers of a base color and one 5-gallon container of a trim color for use on the exterior of their home. Available colors are Off-White, Beige or Yellow for base paint and Off-White, Grey or Green for trim paint. The recycled paint is suitable for exterior use only and should not be used inside the home. 

This program does not waive existing code requirements, but enables homeowners to paint the exterior of their homes using good-quality recycled paint provided at no cost to the homeowner. The actual painting of the home is the responsibility of the homeowner.  

Requirements of the Free Recycled Paint Program

1. Applicant must be an owner of a Sunrise residence. Rental properties are eligible for the Free Recycled Paint Program. 
2. Applicant must complete a Recycled Paint Request Form, which can be requested in person at any City of Sunrise utility payment location, via email at paint@sunrisefl.gov or on the City's website and provide two forms of identification identifying the applicant as the owner of the property where the recycled paint is to be used must accompany each request. A State-issued ID such as a Florida Driver License and most recent water utility bill are preferred.    Paint Application
3. Application can be submitted in person at any City of Sunrise utility payment location or via email to paint@sunrisefl.gov.  
4. Requests are limited to no more than two 5-gallon containers of a base color and one 5-gallon container of a trim color. Choice of colors is subject to availability.  
5. Homeowners can receive free paint once every four years, per Sunrise home. 
6. Paint is intended for personal residential use and may not be sold or used for commercial property or other purposes.  

Important Program Information 

• Homes must be pressure washed prior to painting for best results.   
• Recycled paint should not be combined with other paints.   
• Recycled paint settles naturally and must be mixed thoroughly prior to use. 
• Recycled paint is not suitable for use in sprayers.  

Paint Pick-Up 

• Homeowners will be notified when their form has been approved and paint is available for pick-up.   
• The available program colors will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.    

Color Choices (subject to availability) 

• Each homeowner may receive two 5-gallon containers of the base color in their choice of one: Off-White, Beige or Yellow. 
• Each homeowner may receive one 5-gallon container of trim color in their choice of one: Off-White, Grey or Green.
