10:00 am to 1:00 pm

Sawgrass Sanctuary, 237 North New River Circle

FREE admission!

Enjoy live entertainment, great food and family-friendly activities – all in our beautiful Sawgrass Sanctuary nature preserve. The theme of this year’s event is Pass Up Plastics to protect our Florida Everglades. Read more about it in the latest edition of the Horizons magazine.

Remember to bring a refillable water bottle. In keeping with the event’s conservation theme, water bottle refilling stations will be available throughout the park. No coolers, glass bottles, pets or bicycles will be allowed in the park during the Festival. (A bike parking area will be available.)

We’ll kick off the event with a 10:15 am Tree-Planting Ceremony at the stage in commemoration of Arbor Day, followed by an announcement and celebration of the Sunrise Drop Savers Poster Contest Winners 2024! Other festival highlights include educational and interactive displays, a human-powered area, plus a Kids’ Corner with a hands-on seed planting activity, arts and crafts, rides, and more! We’ll also have a great selection of food and retail vendors.

This year, attendees can play an Earth Day Scavenger Hunt, and Earth Day iSpy. Plus, continue the fun learning by visiting our Good and Green partner booths like Project Perch, Youth Environmental Alliance, Museum of Discovery and Science, Broward Beekeepers Association, Ag in the Classroom, Xavier Cortada Foundation, and the Piper High School Environmental Club.

Sunrise Utilities customers will be able to take home one free tree per property. Sunrise Utilities services Sunrise, Weston, Davie, and Southwest Ranches. Florida-friendly species available include: Dahoon Holly, Pigeon Plum, Fiddlewood, Firebush, Thatch Palm, and fruit trees such as Dwarf Mango varieties (“Nam Doc Mai” and “Honey Kiss”), Avocado (“Winter Mexican”), Lychee. The plant giveaway will be in Pavilion #1 while supplies last.  See our information flyer for details.
