The City of Sunrise is proud of its focused development strategy. Each of the projects spotlighted is designed to enhance the quality of life in Sunrise - providing welcome amenities, increasing property values and/or offering superior employment opportunities to residents. The City has served as the catalyst for quality development in these and other projects. The following projects are in various stages of development: 

Residential:

Vista Verrde
Located on the southwest corner of Pine Island Road and 44th Street, this 288-unit apartment complex recently opened on the site formerly home to Winn Dixie.

Sunrise Gardens
Located across the street from Walmart on Oakland Park Boulevard and University Drive on the former site of BJ’s, Sunrise Gardens is a proposed apartment/condominium complex with 235 units and is nearing completion. 

Solterra
Solterra is a proposed project to construct 900 townhomes and single-family units on a now abandoned golf couse, located on the southwest corner of Oakland Park Boulevard and University Drive.

Caroline at Sunrise
Caroline at Sunrise, located on the southwest corner of Pine Island and West Oakland Park Boulevard, is planned to host eight four-story apartment buildings totaling to 412 units, and six three-story townhouse buildings with 40 townhouses.

Mixed Use:

Radius
Radius is unique opportunity on 32 acres of land with quick access to three major roadways and convenient on-site commercial space. It is designed to accommodate 1.6 million square feet of office space, 400,000 square feet for retail, and 1,500 residential units.

Metropica
Metropica would will be a first-class, transit-oriented, mixed-use project consisting of class A office buildings with structured parking, full service restaurants, upscale retail and luxury high-rise condominiums to be developed at  the northeast corner of Sunrise Boulevard and Panther Parkway. Phase I of this new urban center would span 27 acres, while Phase II would consist of an additional 17 to 25 acres.

Development Around the Arena
Broward County is working on plans to develop the parking lot around the Amerant Bank Arena. The proposed development will include residential, retail, entertainment, and hotel. 

Commercial:

Baptist Health
Baptist Health is excited to bring an innovative healthcare facility, designed with the community in mind, to Sunrise, Florida. Our proposed 100-bed hospital is not just a medical facility, it's a commitment to a healthier, more sustainable future. Located on a 26-acre parcel of land at the northeast corner of Oakland Park Boulevard and the Sawgrass Expressway interchange, Baptist Health Sunrise Hospital is designed with a sustainable approach for the environment and the community.

Broward Health
Through an unprecedented partnership, Broward Health and Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital are coming together to provide emergency services to Sunrise, Florida. To better serve the community, they are bringing an adult and pediatric freestanding emergency room to the northwest vicinity of Oakland Park Boulevard and North Pine Island Road.
