FPL Power Line Strengthening Project 

FPL (Florida Power & Light) is working on a project to strengthen a main power line serving the City of Sunrise.

The project area (map below) is bounded by:

• Sunrise Lakes Boulevard to the north
• West Sunrise Boulevard to the south
• North Nob Hill Road to the west
• North University Drive to the east

The project involves the installation of new concrete poles on the north side of Sunset Strip, and will impact westbound traffic along Sunset Strip from North University Drive to North Nob Hill Road. Due to the use of cranes during certain phases of work, various westbound closures and detours will be necessary.

Work will be conducted during daylight hours, Monday through Friday. In addition, work will be extended overnight once per week: from Thursday at 8:00 p.m. to Friday at 6:00 a.m.

FPL is committed to minimizing  any power interruptions - as well as construction-related noise and any other inconveniences - while work is in progress.
