East Sunrise is a two-square-mile area that extends east of University Drive, including the University Drive corridor, to the City’s municipal boundaries, and south from West Oakland Park Boulevard to Sunrise Boulevard. The area is strategically positioned to become a lively path to an eclectic mix of dining, shopping, recreational activities and sensational nightlife!

This up-and-coming area is within a 10-15 minute drive to the popular Amerant Bank Arena (formerly named the FLA Live Arena), which hosts over 100 major events and concerts annually; Sawgrass Mills Mall—South Florida’s largest outlet mall with over 26 million visitors each year; and other must-see attractions. The reinvention underway in east Sunrise will make the area a prime destination for visitors and residents to enjoy, and a strategic location for businesses to thrive. The city launched the area’s transformation by improving street aesthetics, traffic flow, lighting, walkways and bike lanes, and is moving forward with a number of significant development projects that will continue to enhance the area’s appeal. Several private development projects are in the works, with many more expected as awareness increases about the area’s abundant investment opportunities.
