The Sunrise Commission proclaimed July 2024 as Pass Up Plastics Month in the City of Sunrise in recognition of Plastic Free July, a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution so we can all enjoy cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities. In honor of this notable month, Sunrise is inviting the community to a FREE family-friendly event.
- 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Sunrise Good and Green will be on site with free information intended to help residents and businesses learn more about how they can Pass Up Plastics. Attendees can also spin a prize wheel to earn special gifts from Sunrise Utilities while supplies last.
- 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Presentation by the Good and Green Team to educate the community about the problems from plastic pollution, advise on what steps we can all take to reduce use of single-use plastics, and lead attendees in an activity to decorate their own reusable canvas bag to take home. Supplies are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Presentation will be held in the Dan Pearl Library Meeting Room.
