Don't miss the Grand Re-Opening of Welleby Park! This free community celebration is set for Saturday, July 30th, from 10am to 1pm at 11100 NW 44th Street. Attendees will be wowed by the park improvements and find lots for the whole family to enjoy, including:
- Outdoor games for people of all ages
- A live music concert featuring Top 40 hits
- Your favorite food truck options as well as free refreshments
- Free giveaways for pups and people (while supplies last)
- Strolling live entertainers including a juggler, stilt-walker, and unicyclist
- And more!
Take part in the 11:00 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony and experience Welleby Park's terrific new amenities:
- Nature-themed splash pad
- Bigger and better playground
- SafetyTown play/learn area
- Larger community room
- Lakeside boardwalk
- Additional, connecting Flexi-Pave pathways
- Sunrise's first municipal dog park - Pawgrass at Welleby Park - with dedicated areas for large, medium and small dogs
- Other enhancements include security features and supplemental parking.
The expansion and redevelopment of Welleby Park was made possible by voter support of the City's 2014 general obligation (GO) bond referendum - which continues to fund improvements to parks and recreation facilities in neighborhoods citywide.
