Anime-JapanThe City's relaunched Anime Film and Japanese Culture Festival is set for Saturday, June 10, from noon to 7:00 p.m. at the Sunrise Civic Center (10610 West Oakland Park Boulevard). Attend our free, family-friendly Festival and enjoy films, demonstrations, a cosplay contest, and more. 

Event Schedule:
12:00 p.m. - Exhibitor area opens (Ballrooms)
12:00 p.m. - Food vendors open (Rotunda)
12:30 p.m. - "Ponyo," rated G (Theatre)
2:30 p.m. - "Otaku Mode" Art Talk featuring Carlos Aleman (Theatre)
3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. - Calligraphy Art (Ballrooms)
3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. - Origami Workshops (Ballrooms)
3:30 p.m. - "My Neighbor Totoro," rated G (Theatre)
4:00 p.m. - "Anime-Japan" Art Reception (Gallery)
5:30 p.m. - Final Cosplay Showing (Theatre); Prejudging at noon
7:00 p.m. - Yoshiko Taiko Dojo Drummers (Theatre); Tickets required

The Anime Film and Japanese Culture Festival is presented in collaboration with Tate's Comics of Lauderhill, Anime Iwai, and the 3000 Brigade. Call (954) 747-4646 for event information, or to purchase tickets to the taiko drumming show.
