Public Input Meeting: East Sunrise Improvements Master Plan
5/17/2017 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
The City of Sunrise has initiated the development of a Master Plan for Improvements to East Sunrise. The public Workshop scheduled for Wednesday, May 17, marks the official start of this process.
A Master Plan reflects a community’s long-range vision for its built environment, stimulates investment in non-residential areas, helps revitalize existing neighborhoods, and guides the appropriate use of land in order to protect the public health and safety and to promote general welfare. As a result, this Master Plan has a direct relationship to our citizens, whether you live, work, worship or own a business in east Sunrise.
PUBLIC INPUT PROCESS
The Sunrise City Commission and City staff are committed to involving our residents, businesses, civic leaders, and other stakeholders in the development of the Master Plan. This project approach involves achieving a balance between the desires of the citizens, the City, and private investors, thriving on meaningful participation and interaction, in public forums, to build consensus for a shared vision.
The City has defined a preliminary Vision for the project:
“East Sunrise will be a safe and desirable place in which to live, work and play, with attractive streets, buildings, and green space and a vibrant local business community.”
At the public Workshop, we will discuss and refine the Vision. This is our first step in understanding the goals and objectives of the City for revitalization, reinvestment, and new development in the community.
Please join us on May 17 and at subsequent community meetings as we work together to shape the Master Plan. For additional information, visit www.CelebrateSunrise.com or call (954) 746-3288.
