The DollarWise Campaign, in partnership with The U.S. Conference of Mayors' Workforce Development Council, is inviting students age 13 and up to take part in the 2017 DollarWise Summer Youth Contest
. Boost your financial literacy and have a chance to win great prizes!
Each week during the course of the contest, three students will be randomly selected to win iPads, Kindles, and iPods, and will have an opportunity to take a photo with the mayor of their respective city. (Sunrise Mayor Mike Ryan is looking forward to the honor!) Drawings will be held each Friday (5:00 p.m. ET) from June 30 through August 4.
Here’s how to participate:
- Register and log in to the contest at www.bedollarwise.org/syc.
- Complete a set of six financial education modules that cover important topics such as: Creating Better Money Habits, Setting a Budget, Understanding Credit and Debit Cards, Renting a Place to Live, Creating an Emergency Fund, and Saving for College. (The modules are comprised of short, engaging videos from www.BetterMoneyHabits.com, a partnership of Bank of America and Khan Academy.)
- After completing all six modules, you’ll be encouraged to complete a fifteen-question quiz that will test your knowledge of the contest material. (There’s a study guide to help you prepare.) All students who score an 80% or higher on the exam will receive a digital DollarWise Summer Youth Contest certificate of completion.
